Erika Alonso

Erika is Co-founder and Chief Storyteller of Stairwell D, an agency specializing in digital B2B founded in 2008. Under Erika’s leadership, Stairwell D’s clients have included Discovery Communications, NBCUniversal, Metacafe, Admeld (Google), 5:1 (Google), Esteé Lauder, Kahina Giving Beauty, and Spoken Layer.
Erika also served as Chief Marketing Officer for Piccing, Inc, where she led global marketing, and user-experience. In this role, Erika repositioned Piccing into a social shopping experience resulting in 204% YOY revenue growth, 12 million monthly active users, and won the “Bully Award for European Innovation” at the 2015 White Bull Summit among +500 startups. In addition, Erika has designed or executed the branding and marcomm strategies for such seminal companies and brands as AOL/TimeWarner, Luminant Worldwide (now Razorfish), MasterCard.com, M&M/Mars, Hoberman Toys, and Sony Walkman.
Perhaps most influential, however, is her work at Apple, Inc, where Erika developed the story for Apple’s global mobile advertising platform, now known as iAd. Erika translated this positioning into a strategic product roadmap for Apple, thought leadership keynotes, sales collateral and creative partnerships with Fortune 50 brands. Of these, most noteworthy was Apple’s collaboration with the agency OMD which created an HR certification series called “AppU: The Impact of Apps and Opportunity for Brands”. AppU received industry-praise and AdAge named OMD Agency of the Year.
After years envisioning and delivering strategies for others, Erika turned to entrepreneurship.

In 2018 she co-founded Witi (Wellness Insight Technologies, Inc.), developer of Kazu, a hardware and software ecosystem in the rapidly growing cannabis sector. Kazu’s patented solution offers consumers a safe, personalized experience with precision dosing, guidance, and social engagement, all from the expected convenience of a touch screen. The IP is currently licensed by Perrigo [NYSE:PRGO] and deployed over a hand-held, medical-grade nicotine cessation therapy (NRT) device.

An accomplished artist, Erika’s illustrations include projects with Geffen Records for MTV Music Awards, album covers for Smashing Pumpkins and her digital fine art inspired couture fashion designer Vivienne Tam who integrated Erika’s “Psychedellic Buddha” in her Spring 2000 Resort Collection.
